The Thomas Bennett House was built in the heart of Downtown Charleston, SC circa 1825 by the former South Carolina governor, Thomas Bennett Jr. The impressive structure is an outstanding example of Federal style architecture which was a popular trend between 1780 to 1840. The home showcases details featuring decorative columns and sidelights, along with an impressive grand foyer and large historical windows that truly capture the charm of historic Charleston!


The beautiful property has become a staple wedding venue for many years in the Lowcountry. Its elegance and open spaces allows couples and wedding planners to create the most unforgettable memory in a unique, iconic location.


The spacious areas throughout the property are the perfect opportunity to style and personalize the venue in an elegant, personalized way. The bridal party and guests are able to enjoy full use of the home and gardens the day of the wedding. This venues includes a beautiful garden and patio area for weddings. Many brides opt to hold their ceremonies around the pineapple fountain, under the shade of a 200-year-old oak tree. For the reception, the Side Lawn, adjacent to the Crescent Garden, is the perfect spot. Cafe Lights and Chandeliers are perfect for illuminating this type of open-air space in a romantic and unforgettable way.
